For those who have owned a pair of Lowa Tibets, I'd appreciate your opinions of them. I'm looking to order a pair online - did you find that their sizes ran larger or normal that your typical shoe size?

I really like them, too. I have a weird foot (wide in front but narrow in the heel). I went to the Lowas from Cabelas Meindls. I have had 4 pair — 1 regular, 1 leather-lined, and 2 Hi. I think they have normal sizing as I wear a 13 in the Lowas and in about any other boot.

One my third or forth pair. I like them. Pretty much the only boot I wear October through March. I’ve always ordered my regular size. I felt like the fit changed a little between my first and second pair but that was year ago. First ones seemed narrower than current

Normal size. I bought 2 pair when they were on sale. One pair is well worn while the other still has tags on it. I need to sell them since I need a EE now.

If you wear a 11.5 sheels has a smoking deal.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a pair from Sierra.com for $139.99. I'm sure they are last year's style (or the year before that), but at that price I'm just going to take a chance. They have limited sizes. I'm kind of between sizes depending on the brand, so as @hank4elk said, I ordered the 1/2 size larger to make sure I have room for some winter socks. If they are too large and if they still have the smaller size, I can always make an exchange. But I think that price was too good to pass up.

Yep, Sierra had them for $129.99 back in February. If I didn't already have my next pair sitting in the closet I would have jumped on it.

UPDATE: The boots arrived. Since I usually wear an 8.5 but sometimes wear a 9 in certain brands, I ordered a 9. What arrived was a box pre-printed with a size chart showing these boots to be a US size 11. Beside that size chart, an adhesive label was slapped on the box with the product code for a size 9. The label on the tongue of the boots showed these to be a size 11. Indeed they were too big. But I feel they were more like "size 10 too big" rather than "size 11 too big." I put them sole-to-sole with a couple of pairs of my size 9 boots and they are, indeed, noticeably bigger.

So, I returned them to Sierra's brick-and-mortar store in Helena this morning with no hassle (the retail store did not have any Lowa boots on the shelf). So, I don't know if somehow I just got a pair of 11s that were mistakenly marked as 9s or if these are factory 2nds that were miss-sized originally and then simply estimated to be size 9s and sold as such with the slap-on label.

I'm going to give them another chance. So, I've now ordered a pair of size 9s as well as a pair of size 8s. If my first order was simply a fluke, the size 9s should work. If all of Sierra's Lowa boots are miss-sized and the factory "size estimator" is under-estimating everything, then maybe the size 8s will fit perfectly. Whatever the result, I'll simply return whichever pair or pairs doesn't fit. At this price-point, I don't want to just give up on the deal.

In case anyone else is interested in this deal, I'll give another update when the replacements arrive. In every other respect, the boots looked perfect and the box contained the little 20-30 page booklet that accompanies the boots.

I have had trouble with STP , out of my size ordering.

I ordered mine thru REI and used my points up. The new half size larger for heavier socks are perfect fit. 11 1/2 from 11. US sizes.

Little late here, but I found mine to not be true to size. But I wear a 14 so sizes get weird up there. Regardless of how I laced them or what sock combo I wore, I couldn’t get rid of heel slip on the right boot, but strangely not the left.

Mine took about 50 miles to break in and during that 50 miles an eyelet broke, the rubber rand peeled off, and they leaked basically after mile 5 until I finally gave up.

I basically just keep mine for work boots but even then I have to be careful because they will soak my feet walking through manicured grass with a heavy dew.

I have always wanted to give Lowa another trie and at that price it would be hard to say no. Looking forward to your report!

100% my experience. They are wider than they were some years ago but still love them. On my third pair… Mine have never leaked.

Further update: The 2nd shipment arrived today containing a US size 9 and a US size 8. The sizes were appropriately marked on both pairs inside the boots as well as on the box. So, I'm going to assume the original shipment was a fluke in which a label containing the product code for a size 9 was accidentally slapped on a box of size 11s. These do not appear to be factory seconds (although are probably a style season older than the current ones on the Lowa website).

The size 9s feel too big, even with my thickest pair of winter socks. The size 8s may feel the slightest bit snug with that thickest pair of socks (and that may just be my imagination, given that these are brand new and still pretty stiff), but fit very nicely with every other pair of socks I tried. Had I ordered my true size of 8.5, I probably would be happy with the fit, but I'm honestly thinking these size 8 are going to be the best fit for most of my hunting season - which I was not expecting. I'm going to wear them a little around the house over the next couple of days, though, just to make sure.

So, based on my experience, if anyone wants to take advantage of the Sierra killer deal, I think you'll probably be fine ordering your normal shoe size. Or if you don't mind making a return, order a pair in your normal size and one a half size smaller and see which one you like best. They look like great boots for approximately 1/3 the price of new.

If the 8's still feel tight, you can reduce the extra space in the size 9's using a more supportive and plastic- or carbon-reinforced insole (Superfeet orange, green, etc.) as the original $0.02 foam insoles are thin and take very little space in the boot, plus they do little to keep your heel and overall foot from sliding around if there is toe space.

I found my Tibets to have maybe 1/4 size extra space after break-in. I wear street shoe size 9 in most brands and was very happy with size 9 wide Tibets, with SuperFeet green insoles and a combination of thin liner and padded hiking socks.
