On the hunt

Almost is the name of the game….
73 yards on a nice buck, zipped it right over the back. Held a touch to high with my 70….. been awhile since I missed with my bow, I was already planning the pack out…. Choked - Even made my stalk through basically the creek to stay low enough, soaked my boots, which made the rest of the day kind of a bust.

Petes propane boot dryers are a $100 hunt saver, even made in america.

How did you keep your food cold if you forgot a cooler?

Heres a pro tip, look for BIG coolers CHEAP around colleges in april and may. Ive scored some 150+ for $20 more than once. I didnt realize college kids had so much time for elk hunting, funny thing is they never have blood and tend to smell like mouldy grain.

Along with that, you dont need the ultra high performance to ice some quarters. I kind of think propping the lid a couple inches can help let the heat out for the first couple hours.
