Ocellated Turkey - World Slam

Was fortunate enough to head to the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico to pursue the Ocellated turkey and complete my World Slam. What a truly amazing bird they are. Travel was a breeze, no issues. Food and accommodations were second to none. Hunting in 100 degree weather was new to me.

Used a camp gun. Most of the guns looked newer.

I went to some Mayan ruins in the Yucatan in January, and one of those turkeys was chasing and kicking at us. Been wanting to kill one ever since hahaha.

LOL I wouldn't want to get kicked by one of those big spurred birds!

Since we were tagged out early, they took us on a tour of the ruins just outside Campeche. Pretty impressive

Hunted from blinds, this was the first week they started using calls, the mating season was just ramping up. The second bird I took put on a show for us with his strutting and singing, pretty cool experience.
