Not hunting, Not Friday music, just that good….

I snuck into the Troubador one night and caught Linda & the Eagles mid week. My bro's GF was one of the seasoned waitress' who knew everyone. Early Topanga days when I was 14,15 maybe and weekends with bro were interesting to say the least.....carry on.
That’s an awesome story Hank. Thanks for sharing.

I remember you. My husband would get so upset because I kept starring at that attractive young man. My first time being called a "cougar" :ROFLMAO:

Did you also get up to 'whiskey' or out to the "Bear" ? "Those were the days my friend we though they would never end "

 Ella's "Summertime" is also a good wine sipping tune. My granddaughter made a cd for me and Nina is on it. Some of you might get a laugh out of this. I gave one of my old cards to my granddaughter and she ask if she could take the 8 track player out of it----NO ! And if she removes it after rI am gone I will come back and haunt her ;)
Legs?
Is that you? LOL
I did get into the "Whiskey" ,the"Wildhorse",the Rose Palace & the Ice House.

my apologizes to all other posters on this thread, but the memories triggered by hanks post washed over me like a wave.

Hank, you didn't mention the Golden Bear, but it was one of my favorites, especially for a young woman from Arizona. Sometimes after closing everybody would move across the street to the pier. Not on it, but under it. Sometimes the music and the party didn't stop until day break. A few who became famous later were asleep on the beach come sun up. Damn where did the time go and how did it "go" so fast !!o_O

Ken, if your here, would you be so kind and post Yesterday by Roy Clark for me, and I will log off and bother you fellows no further.

Lifted from comments;
Roy Clark sang this at Mickey Mantle's funeral. Him and Mantle had a joking promise bet who ever died first the other would sing this song at their funeral. When Mickey Mantle was in the hospital and found out he only had 3 to 7 days more to live, he calmly looked at everybody and said "Someone better call Roy and tell him". Roy Clark said singing this song at Mickey Mantle's funeral was the hardest thing he ever had to do but a promise is a promise.

thats o.k., thank you for the thought

speaking of moving North, did you hit any of the Big Sur Festivals ? We made a couple in the mid 60's. Meet Kris K. before he was recording. He was writing but not recording. The one person we meet there that always stayed with me was Judy Collins. But there were others and it was a fun time and beautiful part of the country. I think I told you the story about us meeting the mammas and the papas but dont remember for sure, but wanted to add, yes, Michelle was very striking, but she was also the main reason they broke up.

Eventually my husband wanted to drive 150 miles further North to see what North Beach and the Condor Club was all about, but that would be something we would want to discuss on a different thread ;)

Anybody want to guess what movie my kids were watching when I heard this? I’ll give you a hint. The movie is not nearly as good as this song.

Memories.
Thanks Ken.

Went to several Big Sur Festivals in the 70's & 80's Europe.
Ate breakfast next to Judy Collins at Deetjens one morning and lunch near Kris K. one day at Nepenthe. I still have an autographed copy of the Outlaws.

I saw the Steve Miller Band open for Pete Seeger at the Paladium.
Marshall Tucker opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd @ the Rose Garden Ballroom was a great show too.
Did get to see one show at Filmore West with the Allman Bro's....
