An ordinance holds more legal weight than a simple resolution that a lot of other counties adopted when this circus first started. It may deter the powers that be from dropping wolves in Montrose County. Establishes a basis for a legal challenge, although not much of a challenge since the ordinance opposes state statue that has higher legal standing. Other counties should look at this strategy to get something codified into their local statutes that can make it more difficult to release wolves in their locations.
Sadly, I do agree that this is posturing and won't amount to much of anything. However, if it slows down re-introduction process, even just a bit, I'm for it.
