With the way things worked out this year, an August bear hunt, Nov cow hunt, and MAYBE a Feb skunk pig hunt are going to be my big game hunts this year. Planning on hunting the Gila. I've spent a bit of time out there and have seen a few bears and lots of sign, but everyone's tactic is to hunt water it seems. I'd rather not sit on a tank all day. What can you guys tell me about bear habits that time of year? What are they feeding on? What's my best bet for killing a bear NOT over water? I'm still a rookie to this "out West" stuff, so I appreciate any and all info someone would be willing to share.
