This makes me sick to my stomach. I am soooooooo sad for your loss. I would wait until the loss isn't so strong. Then make a decision. I don't think "rash" decisions are ever a good idea!

Aww man - that truly sucks. Very sorry for your loss. Sounds like was an awesome pup. Gotta love the Labs!
We lost our 13 YO yellow a while back - Chico (avatar pic) was my buddy for sure - tough to get over but like any loss gets better with time.
After Chico's passing, we actually went and looked at a yellow pup, decided not ready to jump into the puppy deal so backed off. Then came across the sweetest find ever - Wyatt (4 YO English Chocolate) was being retired by a breeder and they were just looking for the right home to spoil him - we scored. He is a sweet boy, has had some great training, great companion and awesome personality. Just mention as an option you might want to explore - breeders retiring "pre-owned" models.

This just hits me right in the gut. Sorry for your loss, I can only imagine how you feel. I don't know what to tell you on finding a new dog, but I like the idea 02bfishn mentioned.
