New threat to 2nd A?

I think we might be seeing darwinism play out on a much larger scale than this incident on a MN street.

The chaos around immigration, enforcement and effects of both legal and illegal immigration is essentially the effects of the cause that is systemic leadership failure across multiple administrations and both parties of Congress.

We the people have a lot of responsibility as well in that we haven’t held our leaders and representatives accountable to solve the problems rather than point fingers at the other side.

Hogwash.

It was democrats that killed more gun control legislation in MN a few sessions ago...at a time when they had majority control of the house and senate and had Walz as governor!
Ahhh so Dems killed legislation that they introduced. Kinda like the arsonist working at the fire dept. More likely a few moderate, reasonable Dems in suburban or rural districts killed it. Reps not bought and paid for by billionaire Mike Bloomberg. How many gun control bills did they pass?

Similar situation here, the threat of Gov Polis veto forced Colorado Dems to shift outright semi-auto ban to a permit to purchase scheme.

Honestly, I don’t follow Minn politics that closely. Here in Colorado Dems also enjoy absolute, unfettered political power and they average 8-10 anti-gun bills a session. Seeking to squeeze out lawful gun ownership through over regulation and stripping away constitutional freedoms. Currently debating one in the golden dome today. It’s not hogwash that Dems in blue states push anti-gun bills every session. Sometimes they don’t make it, sometimes they get watered down, but they never go away.

Some
folks might have to look it up, but MN has a number of what used to be called "blue dog" democrats. And others who stop at support of more extreme GC proposals. That will never change...if they want to get re-elected.

I never expected DJT to be worried about my Constitutional rights. If I did, a quick look at his history would show I was likely going to be disappointed.

I was at his big appearance that was a private invite held in a theatre, January 2016, at the SHOT Show. Jr and his pals got DJT up on the stage to talk about his support for 2A. He started rambling, mixing in a small bit of 2A and a lot of other stuff. The superficiality of his comments made it clear, at least to me, that he was interested in 2A because of the political convenience of saying such. That day was a pretty abrupt change to his prior softness on 2A. But, he said the right things about his opponent, HRC, the most disliked person at SHOT Show that year.

That was enough to get half the crowd standing and cheering. The rest of us kind of sat there, listening, hopeful that maybe he really cared about 2A. I hoped he would do good things when he won. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that maybe I misread him, though I didn't trust him or his history enough such that I cast a write-in vote.

Well, time has shown he doesn't care about 2A or any parts of the Constitution, unless it is politically convenient. I'm not surprised or disappointed, as that was kind of my expectation. If he thought he could get the Epstein issue to disappear by eliminating the 2nd Amendment, he'd do it by noon tomorrow.

Just a reality of the situation. And anyone who is surprised by this 2A waffling today give it time; by Friday the polls will show how this recent statement was a bad position, and he'll change his tune once again.

At his core he has no life experiences to connect him to rural values. Often times his comfort comes by saying what he feels instinctively. We all do that. In his case, it results in comments that are reflective of a New Jersey real estate developer, a person who is disconnected to the values and concerns of rural and conservative people. He's done a pretty good job of convincing people for the last ten years that he somehow can relate to rural America. His opponents have often times openly ridiculed rural America, making him their default choice.

It is what it is. I'm not counting on him to be my defender of 2A. I'll be my own advocate for 2A.

Some might remember John Kerry goose hunting, in an appeal to gun owners. Obviously it did not work out that well.

However, if you gave Trump and Kerry a firearm, and ammo, I have little doubt which one could figure out more quickly how to make it work.

Trump has been a con man for his entire life. Name one instance where he did not stiff someone, when things got tight.

You could consider this an informal IQ test for realizing you've been conned by a con man.

You just can’t make this stuff up! Democrats will be Free Market next.

He made similar remarks when he got to Iowa.

Remember when he said he could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and he would not lose any voters.

An accomplished con man understands his victims extremely well. He has played them like a fiddle.

He's thrown some crumbs their way, while enriching the closest people, he could call friends. This time it was called the big beautiful bill.
