This is my new hunting rifle. I know it doesn't look like your classic rifle but it sure shoots. I am working on a load right now but I have it down around a half inch. Stiller Tac 300 action, Green Mountain Barrel, Timney Trigger, XLR industries Chassis.

300 Rum 200 grain Barnes LRX 92 grains of Retumbo.

Those chassis are way cool looking. I've thought about one for my 260 Rem, but may go with a McMillan due to costs. That one looks like it will have plenty of reach...

Muzzle break that works great. I looked at a Mcmillian also but for the cost and weight I went with the chassis.

I hope you hunt from the truck! I wouldn't carry around a rifle that heavy! Looks like fun though.

The way I figure it I can always lose a couple of pounds to make up for the weight of my rifle.

Crazy heavy for mountain hunting, and I'd never put a box mag on my hunting rifle

Old thread but box mags are 'in' these days. HOWA ,GAP, a few more as I recall....I like em.
