New Camcorder On Order!!!!

well, i have been without one for over a year waiting for one that has everything i want. Small (very small) size, great still shots, no damn tape drive noise, no crappy tape drive to break from dust, Good low light performance and HD video. Well here it is, I should have it next week. I think this is the ultimate hunting camera. best of all I got it for 725$ shipped. I can't wait to try it out on a fat old doe for the freezer. Last years video was so dark from that POS Canon that it was almost useless in heavy tree cover. This one seems to be really good in low light filming according to what I have read so far. We shall see! The biggest drawback is the editing ability is limited yet for this codec so far. The cool thing though is it can be set to record on low res just for internet video posting. Another cool thing is if you have an external hard drive you can plug the camera in to it with USB and dump the video onto the hard drive without having to even have a PC hooked up to it.

so really, what did you have in mind?? Without having a tape drive it should be fairly durable compared to the tape or DVD, or even the hard drive models. Hell, there isnt even any moving parts to this one except for the internal zoom for the lens

Yetty don't snare them. He picks them up on the street and swings them around until they are dizzy and give in, even if thier mates are present, I have seen it. The guy gets a lot of bobcats but definitly plays the numbers game if you make a stalk on 100 of them you may bag one of them is his tactics.

Can you go into more detail on your "sneaking" strategy? Is there belly crawling involved?

That does remind me of the time I was at an awesome college hangover restaurant in Grand Forks, ND called "The Red Pepper"...they serve a grinder that is out of this WORLD...anyway, the morning (early afternoon) after a long, fuzzy night we were on a mission to get "the cure"...long story short I may have warped the plastic of the booth I was sitting in and literally CLEARED 20 people out of the joint. In my embarassment I could think of nothing else to do than stand up and point at the woman sitting behind blurting, "Holy @#$% Lady! That's disgusting".

It was a good thing I drove up for that party because had I been a passenger on the 80 mile drive back to Fargo, I would have most certainly been left behind.

that was the hard part of waiting over a year to get one, my son grew up a lot and all I have is stills of him, no video.

So far this thing rocks!! I didnt go up to my land this weekend so I can't tell you how it is in low light in the woods yet but i can tell you it is way better than my old camcorder
