No dogs, we just keep after them until we can't climb anymore. Then when we go back to the truck for rest and a drink we hear those darn birds just up the hill we just came from and start over again.

I thought so too, until I had dusky and ruffed grouse this fall...although I wouldn't really consider hunting them as sporting as hunting red legs.
