Taken in Oct. 1998, my Grandpa's last elk. He died in May the follow spring. He was 85 when the pic was taken.

This is a picture of my dad and son glassing for mule deer on my dad's second to last hunt. Just a few months later, my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. We made it out for one more hunt before he passed on. I look back at this picture and think how much better life was when it was taken while we were still unaware of what coming up next.

I can't decide what pics I like more the little ones hunting or the old timers hunting. Perhaps instead of a drawing it could go to the pic of the oldest hunter and the pic of the youngest hunter. Wait what am I saying then I couldn't win... never mind.
 
This is turning into one hell of a thread. You guys have some great pics. Really liking the old stuff and the pics of the old timers getting out there.

Good thing this will be a random draw, 'cause I am not sure how I would pic a winner from these.
 
tjones - old timers from the "Greatest Generation" seem to have a look of their own. Love that pic. Looks like a heck of guy.
