My favorite day of the year....

OMG! :D ...Moosie is this part of the odds- $100 fine vs $5000 bond ;)

...or are you leaving out the $1,000,000 umbrella policy on your homeowners

Well, We talked to RED/BLUE this morning...Yep, they showed up. Something about it getting a little crazy, over 250 people in a Cul-de-sac and 40 Minuts of NON-STOP Ka~banging :)

I don't know why the cops didn't talk to my neighbors that shot off their 'works (One every 5 minutes) untill 2 in the morning. Sure Ours was Loud and huge and cars were coming in blocking traffic from the main road.... but it only lasted 40 Minutes.

No tickets were issued fortunately. Since they didn't "see" us light them. Even though we had a Pile high of fireworks in the middle of the cul-de-sac all broomed together watered down :D :D

Wile' All I have to say is Sorry. We had 2 go astray, I didn't even see the one in your direction. One of the TOMTOM barrel items actually malfunctioned and blew in 2 pieces. Shows you why the officials get concerned. I heard a Chair burnt up... Sorry man, I didn't know it was yours. Or was it jsut next to you ? I was looking afterewards for who's it was to replace it but it wa crazy afterwards and ALOT of people. Your wife probably won't let us PLAY together now. Give me a Bill and I'll replace it if it's yours !!!!

I'm still in AWE' in how the Event went off. I thought Last year was NutZ but this year made the cake. WOW !! It was truely an event.

Anyway, We're on the Cops route' list for next year now. So We might have to figure something out. We have new Safety measures in place for next year to stabalize the base's but now might need a new location. We'll keep ya posted :)

Our little show was more sedate than usual. Most of our connections for the good stuff got busted - there was a real crack-down this year. Probably caused by the guy blowing up his house in Lakewood....

The cops were checking and catching a lot of people bringing stuff in from out of state.

So we only had about 2 dozen aerials, a few sky rockets, a few Roman candles and a bunch of bottle rockets and firecrackers. The rest of the stuff was "safe and sane." The crowd was much smaller than in the past. I think the mid-week holiday had a lot to do with that.

But - this weekend we hold all the kids' games, the barbecues and the "All Sportsmen" competition - everything from basketball hoops and horseshoes to rifle shooting. ;)

We actually invited a cop friend. still didn't stop the neighbors from complaining. Maybe I'll offer to buy their house and use it as a staging area for the 4th ....... :D

Let's recap the day....

It started off with a couple hours of filling balloons. We only filled FOUR HUNDRED and the people that we went to filled close to ONE THOUSAND !!! We set up durring the day in different yards in different containers so no one knew they were there. But I digress.....

Here is the first batch jsut starting out:

I threw a balloon at the kids jumping and came up with a new game. The kids loaded up the tramp with 14 balloons and lost points for each balloon they got hit with from jumping :

After several hours of tieing and fillnig balloons, we went to the store to get ice, pop, new tables, and a few last min items. We had coolers full of pop, I estimate 250-300 cans. On top of that we had 2 5 gallon water containers and lemon aid, etc. ALL was gone by nights end. I think some kids got 3 times their weekly alotment !!

Here is a picture of some fireworks.

I know it doesn't look like much if you never been to the back room of the firework place but the Red one to the Right was one of the Fanalies and had a $200+ price tag on just that one alone...... The rest were "free" each ... because as I' typing this I remembered that my wife reads the board....and since I only spent $200 on the lot of it "TOTAL"..... Uhhh...... the rest were jsut free !!!! HAHA !!

Anyways, We had waterslides and Astro jumps :

All I have to say is WOW... I didn't fair to bad, but didn't fair well afterwards !!!! All we had to do was get them in our mouth. Looks like in 30 seconds there was a 8 cupcake tie ........ MOOSIE and KIP !!

Having ate a HUGE dinner I knew I was beat. Since it was a tie, we had to swallow them to win. Kip (The other guy) would put his head down to swallow and I took some out of my mouth without him noticing. Notice the cupped hand at my side in the below picture. I did that twice and barely finished when he did. Then I showed him I cheated and he claimed victory

Then, it was off to the balloon toss :

Then the adult spulled out the towels and teamed up and played toss the balloons as well :

Hell broke loose as someone launched a random water balloon. then it was GAME ON. Only about 6 of us knew about the 1000 Plus balloons hidden all over and We started bringing out the AMMO !!!! LOOK at the ground at the thousands of little balloon pieces. Everyone pitched in to pick up and sweep the mess, we had a great time :

We all took our fair share of hits and everyone was cool after the 100 Degree heat just prior before.

Sparklers were lit, then the festivities began. Earlier in a picture you saw a Flag on the house. We had a Trumpet player play the Star Spangle Banner after the Sparklers were all done and it was dark. We lit up the Flag with all other lights off and started off the fireworks with a great feeling.
