My Cabin

The work portion of this trip is in the rear-view.
We have headed back to ANC for the last couple of days of the trip
We are tired and have worked very hard, sometimes in the
Almost constant Alaskan drizzle. We have taken hundreds of pictures
And dozens of crappy videos. We should be back st the house on Monday about noon
I will get something put together as soon as I get back on the good side of my wife

Drizzle is an understatement... longest consecutive days of rain on record. Almost a record for total rainfall. Wierd year for sure... also set a record for consecutive days of sun and temps over 70 degrees. Hope you got some hunting in

Very nice! Actually had my picture taken in front of the same Denali park sign this summer.

Don't feel bad about going to the wrong spot four times. I had a guy dig the hole for the perk test on a lot we own. I missed a pin and the landowner was not happy! Neither was I, had to pay the backhoe guy again.

Love the part about you going to the wrong spot 4 times in a row. :D

I am such an idiot!! The first several times we went up we just went basically off the map we were given from the state. Looking back on it, the map was pretty clear but I am a buffoon.
This time I got and found all of the corner stakes before we broke ground.

There is an existing 4-wheeler track thru my property. The state maintains a right away around my property which I cleared for the new access. How best do I restrict access (without looking like an ass) moving forward?

Some Montanans have had success by building their house in the middle of the road. :W:

Great job Nick!! Looks like you and Kassye had a blast. You're right about the rain, it rained every day of our caribou hunt except one! Scott and I both shot bulls, but we saw a lot less animals than when you and I went in 2010 - the late spring, hot dry summer, and rainy early fall has really confused the migration pattern this year.

Awesome work on the land, I'll have to get up that way one year when you're there!

Michael
