MT app question

Don't think Ill make it to MT this year so was thinking I would just do the point app in July. Question is if I apply now and put in for a LE and don't get it would that be more expensive than just doing the point deal in July?

Yes, it's way more expensive. You can only get an 80% refund of the combo license. So you'd be out a couple hundred bucks vs $25 if you wait until later and just buy the point. Plus if you do it now you'll have to buy a base hunting license $15 and conservation license $10. You don't have to buy any of that during the points only period. Just $25 per species for deer, elk, and antelope.
