I was reading about that when looking in to applying for the NR general tags. Doesn’t seem like a very popular take.

Idf&g have been trying to kill off all of the bucks in 14 because of cwd. I wouldn't hunt deer in 14 anymore.

Saw some really anti-gubmint posts on FB about this last week.
Lots of "shove your testing" and "Hell No!" "We The People won't do your invasive testing..."

Funny you mention that. I looked at a flipper house in Gville last year and decided it needed to be burned down. I saw the Zillow ad and got to thinking about how cool a 2nd story deck would be to drink coffee and enjoy the views. IRL it ended up being a POS money pit. Beware of wet basement issues on the north side. City storm runoff management is non-existent to the north of Hwy 13.

There is something really special about the views on the Camas Prairie. 360° mountains and prairie. I look for the Seven Devils every time I come down Hwy 95 south.

Almost all the nicer homes are south of the main drag, affordable north.

Lot's of old families in the area. Germans and Scandinavians.

Idaho Forest Group runs the Guy Bennett Mill in town. USFS NP/Clearweater used to be a big presence in town, but the SO is now moved to Kamiah.

As others have said Lewis and Clark Wildlife Club in Lapwai is not a bad shooting range. An organized range with 500 gongs. I'm keep a membership even though it is a little hard for me to get there after work. Much closer for Gville.

Decent pizza place and Mexican place, decent sporting goods store. Still has a drive in theater.

Helpful hints:
The river towns are pronounced "Kam-ee-ai" and "Koosky". Nothing says newb like getting them wrong. Oh - the town on the way to Lewiston is pronounced "LapWAY". It is the Nez Perce Tribal headquarters. A little sensitivity goes a long way.

Mount Idaho is where a lot of the baddies @TheTone talked about live. Just keep driving.

Time zone bridge at Riggins is the line for sure. Everything starts to feel weird south of there

It was voluntary. Got an opportunity pursue a job I’ve been wanting to do for a bit. I’ll be coming with NM plates. I’m sure that’s not any better though.

New Mexico is better than Colorado. That said, some will always be a$$holes about it. If possible, change before landing.

This is why is I use the term "Snorth". Panhandlers get tetchy when us Palousers say we are in NORTH Idaho. You can try tacking on the "Central" word, but no one cares. 1L plates get hate whether you go upstate or down. An Idaho County plate is pretty much all access, I think.

Sibling squabbles. You have to BE Idaho before you can join that fight.
