So, what is wrong with America these days... The PC crowd wants to make me puke. Have you noticed that the word "Christmas" is slowly becoming a thing of the past? It is slipping away folks.
Have you noticed the "holiday tree" "holiday tree lot" " Holiday tree lighting ceremony" "holiday sale" holiday this, holiday that.... but it is still OK to say Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Ramadan... (spelling)
I don't go to church, i am not a deeply religious person, but are we supposed to be ashamed to be Christian and celebrate Christmas? At work they will not use the word Christmas in any company news letters or bulletins. They wont admit it, but they still will not use the word Christmas for what it is. It seems some of us in the good ol USA can't be proud of our past, and religion.
We used to have a Christmas lunch, now it is a Holiday lunch. We used to have Christmas shut down, and now it is a holiday shut down. They want us to bring in gifts to help out poor families and put them under the "holiday Tree" !! I want my Christmas back

Sure hope we never get a chance to have a beverage Schmalts. I think it would be a loooong conversation. And..... on top of what you just said. A friend of mine works in an office and he asked the powers-to-be why they didn't recognize Veterans Day and was told, "Well, we have to be very careful as some of our employees may not agree with the taking of life". WTF! Now you have me started!

I'm on board with you Schmalts; another example of the absurdity of PC is the policy of one of the branches of municipal government of Charlotte, NC to forbid any employee to ask another where they go to church. You must ask them where they "attend services".
