Well, after having a start to a dream season, Drake and I hit the hills last week and right off the bat I sent my arrow under the ribcage of a 7x7 bull. Knew my luck was going to run out at some point;)

So, to drown the sorrow, we came back, grabbed the boys and Fiver and went and filled a couple doe tags:):) These are the nights I remember the most each year, these kids just absolutely live for these nights in the stand and its so awesome seeing how excited they get about it. No big antlers here, but to these boys it doesn't matter.....

Anyway, couple of weekend pics............

sorry pics suck, not sure why they turned out so bad.

My son found a shed horn looking for the blood trail so he thought it would be cool to have the one horn wonder photo:)

Sweet Matt...

Wow...almost took another nice bull!?!?! Just a few days ago you were claiming no more huntnig for a while!!

Made quick work of getting back on the MRS Critter's good side..............so off I went.

Should have been a dead bull too, rookie mistake:)

Looks like you may have a future bio engineer. Awesome pics.

..sorry no sympathy on the 7x7 miss after seeing your last bull.;)

Great pics. Some of the best hunts and pics I have are when my kids were little! We didn't always get the "big one", but they were the most important ones!

Good job, critter. Looks like a lot of fun.

It works the other way, too. I remember some of the hunts I tagged along on as a kid much more vividly than many of the hunts when I had a tag myself since then.

Agreed! I too remember when I tagged along with Dad more vividly than many of my own hunts since...

I remember my tagging along tagless hunts too, but mostly for the wrong reasons - car trouble, storms, car trouble, car trouble, car trouble... Of course, my dad didn't kill with anywhere near the kind of regularity you guys do and when he did they weren't quite animals of the stature you guys kill. More times than not, we had some sort of car trouble. ;)

Awesome job getting the kids out on the hunt! I see the words 'another big bull' which makes me think I've missed something...

Awesome to take the kids along. I almost got a bear with my kids this spring. Can't wait until my boys can stay quiet enough to walk more than 1/10 of a step!!!! They will love it, but I will love it more!!! Great "dadding" critter!
