Moose 25

I knew exactly where the bull laid to rest. But, things are different in the dark, we easily got spun about trying to locate Sherman. Our moose buggies have powerful night lighting, but it all looks the same in the dark. After driving about and walking by headlamp, Found him at 2AM. Pictures, weight, gut, Back at camp 5:30AM.

A frosty, freezing night. Field dressed and hauled back to camp, with hide on. Hung Sherman from my moose buggy, and we went to bed.

We entered the trail under low grey sky, Misty rain kept things muddy and wet. After driving over a few piles of purple bear poo, a bull was spotted just off the trail.

Love seeing bulls in the brush. After close inspection, nice bull, but a sub-legal. Further in, mud holes happen. Up to the truck bed, a good five foot deep mud hole.

After stops to collect fire wood and fill the water jugs, finally setting up camp.

What is his legal brow count? Is it 2x4 or 2x5? Either way it would be 4 and legal regardless of that massive width!

This is awesome! Color me jealous but congratulations for sure! Moose and caribou are my dream animals so I live vicariously through those that can do it.

Living the dream. Congratulations on another successful trip. And thanks for sharing.

Amazing! Congrats on a great trip! If you ever want to see my eyes light up, while simultaneously seeing my wife's roll way back into her head, ask to hear the story of how I carved the best spatula ever from a chunk of fir and "saved" the camping trip..

Congratulations! Your planning and follow through are amazing. The grand kids are so lucky to be a part of this. Memories for life = priceless!
