The e tag deal isn’t all to bad I still prefer a paper tag but just make sure to download your tag before you go hunting. you won’t be able to validate it if you are somewhere without service if you don’t

I believe they are just separate draws and permit results haven’t come out. Unfortunately I would assume if your combo tag was not drawn your permit won’t be successful. But I could be wrong!

We must not be getting enough nonresident funding to run the draw on time this year. Time for a price hike.

Could have sure used another $50 dollars per NR, but thanks to mcs/moga they got a $35 dollar hike.

I am so stoked! I was hoping for the combo hunt, brothers adventures. I drew, and am so stoked to have drawn my first limited entry bull permit. I got lucky too! The percentages weren’t on my side.

I am going to do my best to journal the experience. I killed 5 bulls before leaving Montana at the age of 23. Life, and my ex, got in the way. I hadn’t killed one since. I pray for good luck and blessings.

And if you’re in a spot with a spotty service but just enough to confuse your phone, you might get a spinning wheel trying to validate - just turn it to airplane mode to validate the tag.

That’s a possibility! I’ve never drawn a tag like this and I’d love to have a great adventure! I actually have a high school friend that’s a helicopter pilot and I’m going to start by hitting him up! I am a pretty daring guy and am up for corner crossing too.

That’s a tag that encapsulates all of MTs elk issues in a nice little package. Happy to help in research with anything I have although it probably isn’t much and certainly dated. Send me a PM when the plan starts to form.

Anybody know why it shows unsuccessful for my big game combo and deer permit. But my elk permit as pending?

Been reading on other forums and on Facebook there’s tons of folks in this same situation. Shows unsuccessful for combo tag but then pending for elk permit …. Maybe everyone will get a tag lol

I've had more than my share of luck in draws, which over 30+ years of multi-state apps is a function of how many "raffles" I've entered. For years, I was luckier than most in my Montana elk/deer limited entry draws, though I completely suck at pronghorn tags in Montana.

This is another year when I have to laugh at how I go on streaks of being in the wrong 1%, then luck will change and I'll go on another streak of being in the right 1%. Two years in a row that my expected probability was 95+%, only to be in the 1-5% that didn't draw. No complaints. My general area hunts are usually as successful as limited entry hunts.




I'm pretty sure a month from now, when sheep results come out, I'll be in that lucky 1%.

I doubt I'll get my Sheep tag I only have 25 bonus points.

I'm always surprised at how my extended family can't draw a tag with several apps of 50% chance or better. Then there's the guy I know that has drawn 3(?!) 380 Bull tags. Craziness.
