I'm surprised the Mayor of New York hasn't declared a State of Emergency yet. New York is flooded by the tears of Yankee fans lol

"Ball 4. Ball 8. Ball 12. And Vaughan walks the bases loaded on 12 straight pitches. Boy, how are these guys laying off pitches this close!?!"

Perhaps my favorite moment. 7th inning stretch, of course in brew city its all about "roll out the barrel" and ahead of that, what would be more appropriate than a toast and cheers to the man.

Some of Uecker's great quotes that were shared at the ballpark yesterday:

"I knew when my career was over. In 1965 my baseball card came out with no picture"

"Sporting goods companies pay me to not to endorse their products"

"The highlight of my career? In 1967 with St. Louis, I walked with the bases loaded to drive in the winning run in an intersquad game...in spring training"

"I signed with the Milwaukee Braves for $3000. That bothered my Dad at the time because he didn't have that kind of dough. But he eventually scraped it up"

"They said I was such a great prospect that they were sending me to a winter league to sharpen up. When I stepped off the plane, I was in Greenland"

"I led the league in go get 'em next time"

"I set records that will never be equaled. In fact, I hope 90% of them don't even get printed"

"I hit a homer off Gaylord Perry and he said it was the worst day of his life. Not his baseball life but his whole life"

"I'll never forget my 1st opening day. They told me it was a night game and then I found out they played that afternoon"

"I'm not afraid of dying, I just don't want to be there when it happens"

A little bit more on this one. This came from Robin Yount right at the end of the event as he was really struggling to keep it together given how close the two of them were. It was a heartfelt moment in the stadium and I looked around at the fans near me and there were tears on numerous faces including my own.

What kind of life the man had to be celebrated in a baseball stadium full of people and moving a large portion of them tears. I'd call that winning at life.
