MLB

Anyone can see that he’s in the top 0.01% of players to ever play, but he clearly, obviously, and willingly broke the most sacred rule in baseball. I think he deserves it, but I’m also okay with it being posthumously. Nobody made more money off the HOF than Pete. It was a give and take. MLB has all sorts of Pete’s accomplishments and memorabilia in the HOF so they capitalized on him. He stacked cash signing anything he could while high jacking many HOF induction weeks, drawing attention away from those being honored. Great player, questionable character. Also, that whole dating a teenager thing…
Just curious how all you Pete Rose fans feel about the steroid era guys chances at the HOF afte this decision?

This is a very interesting post. I appreciate it. Really makes me think. And I don’t have my answer for any of it. You put my mind in a pretzel.

IMO most all of the different levels within MLB have integrity issues at different times. It’s sad that discussions now evolve around which gray area we feel is acceptable and which is not.

IMO with this most recent decision, I don’t see why the steroid era guys shouldn’t be considered for the HOF. The shade of gray just changed, again.

Yes.
I've heard a lot of folks bang the drum and rail against steroid era guys but somehow are fine looking the other way regarding widespread and rampant use and abuse of greenies and amphetamines by ballplayers for roughly 40-50 years.

Great game last night between the Rangers & Astros. Pitching by Degrom & Brown along with some great defensive plays made for a fun game to watch!

As much as I don’t like the Rangers for beating my Redsox, they are a solid team! ⚾💯

Braves & Redsox tonight. Sale vs. Crochet. Could be a good battle at pitching 👍🏼. Sales current ERA is misleading. When he is on its lights out. Crochet has been dialed.

I just hope the rest of the team shows up behind Breggy & Devers 😉

I think there’s a chance the Braves get Strider and Acuna back this series. I sure hope so.

That was a great pitching duel at least until the Sox put the relievers in. That was hard to watch even as a Braves fan.

Painful‼️ You’re awfully kind.

Both starters brought their game and did not disappoint. The Braves bats just persevered when it mattered and hammered the relievers. It’s too early for a Sox unraveling 🙄….but….

I see it’s Holmes & Gioloito. Last time Gio pitched it wasn’t pretty. Let’s see what tonight brings.

I will agree that Pete Rose was one of the greatest hitters out there but, I don't believe a statutory rapist and pedophile deserves to be in there

Well, the Braves vs Redsox game last night had a happy ending 😁….for the Sox….this time 🙄. Walk off by Devers!

Aroldis Chapman as a closer is where he should have always been.

@jvanhoy lets hope for another close great game tonight between your Braves & my Sox!

I don’t disagree.

IMO the struggle is between the player being the best at the game and the player being a good, moral human being. There are a-lot of Hall of Famers who were terrible humans but great at the game.

Good human, great ball player, both, neither, little white lies, big lies??? I think this is where I struggle on the topic. Trying to separate a game from morality.

A great ball player does not automatically make them a great or even good human. It’s a hard subject with so many side streets of thought for me.

I missed the game last night because me and my son went catfishing. Must have been a good one.

I listened to the brewers game last night on the radio until the 6th inning. At that the pitcher in only his second start had a perfect game going and hadn’t given up a hit in his first 11 innings pitched. He hit 102 on the radar and hadn’t given over 20 pitches 100+ mph. In the 7th he gave up a walk followed by a homer but the brewers still won 17-6. Euch had to be smiling down on that one sipping a cold miller light eating a usingers brat.

Can a GM not from the Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox or Mets please get Paul Skenes out of Pittsburgh.

I agree he needs to go to a better team with more run support and I'm a yankees fan so if he would come over that would be great, but we would have to give up every prospect known to man.
