Lots of my buddies back home are hunting ducks today in the land of 10,000 lakes. Can’t say I’ve ever made a waterfowl opener but I appreciate that nostalgia. I might go out this weekend and jump a few creeks to see if I can find a few teal that I saw last weekend.

Had to wait out a storm in the cattails but I shot my limit! Two woodies, two blue wing teal and two mallards. The wife, using my new shotgun, dropped four!

I rarely go into Cabelas anymore but last night I went in empy handed then came out with a new 20 gauge. I bought a Franchi Affinity 3. I'm banking on forgiveness over permission with the ol' ball & chain!

Ended up with 28 birds and only three lost. It was a good hunt.

@BrentD we found the teal. 22 of the 28 birds were BWT. Just give it some time, I'm sure they will move south.

I'm hoping they get here soon. I'm going to go hungry. However, I think our season just closed for a week or two, so now they will probably race through and we won't see them until next year. Good to hear that you have some up there however.

Canadas are on tap for consideration now. I only need a couple.

you guys did better than us! we hunted in the longville area on some beaver ponds in hopes to get some good woodie action, shot a few, but not alot of opportunities

Early season goose is about to open! They are starting to flock up! I'm getting stuff squared away for it.
