I visited a ole friend last week. I am restoring a 1718 French Fowler. The lock was converted to a cap lock and the owner wanted it returned to a Flint lock. I'm doing the wood repairs to it and my friend Keith Casteel worked the lock for me. Look him up if you like Flint Locks. He just finished a Flinter that is Awesome. Keith was contacted by a collector to build a gun and keep a recorded log on the building of the gun for a book. The book will be about the top 10 gun makers in the country and you DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE GUN COST !

As far as firearms go theres nothing like a beautiful old muzzleloader. Except maybe a nice EBR. Looks like some fantastic work.

That looks to be a danged pretty piece of history. You gonna hunt with it?

Goldtip , no that gun is sold to a collector I wish I had that kind of money. I build my own guns. I spent time in Keith's shop about 30 years ago learning how to build Flint Locks. One of the best mentors I've ever had. His guns avg. price is 10K but will hit 100K , just a little out of my range. :D
