For those of you who were worried that an EO could do what Mile Lee couldn’t. This was release last nught, July 3, probably hoping everyone would be too busy to notice. While a quick read probably doesn’t cause concern, it is a clear indication that they have zero interest in using the LWCF funds for its intended purpose of purchases for conservation.

“(c) developing policies to recover fish and wildlife populations through collaboration rather than regulation, including policies involving coordination with State wildlife agencies;”

What I am seeing is a massive top down withdrawal from collaboration. not just on fishing wildlife, but on habitat, land use, and land management. I get the sense that, and talk to little birds who, seem to portray that federal employees collaborating with the local run a risk of being the squeaky wheels that get the ax. Turns out having management be more influenced by the local might run straight against what the big wigs in DC proclaim is needed.

Worrying point for me :

Sec. 2. General Policies. All Federal land management agencies, as defined by 16 U.S.C. 6801(3), shall, to the extent practicable, ensure that their policies:

(a) promote responsible stewardship of natural resources while driving economic growth;

The rest actually don't seem too bad. Seems like a decent idea, I just don't like that these lands should help drive economic growth. That seems like an easy jump to say we need these acres for a new tesla factory, etc.

Am I just paranoid?

Doubt Tesla will be getting anything else from the government anytime soon. 😂

Not paranoid. There's a republican legislator in my state whose behavior and actions are a great example of how we need to be worried. Land sales is the tip of the iceberg..

Another was released last night on National parks- increasing accessibility, going to charge “nonresidents” more (which is kind of funny when you think about it) etc.

These don’t do anything except get everyone on the same page regarding federal lands- Maximize Revenue. As was my point on Lee’s actions, pretty much unnecessary because there are already plenty of ways for BLM to dispose of land. People will have to be vigilant at the local level, because that is where this is moving.

I might be speaking out of turn, and I dont want to ruffle feathers. I actually hate these threads, nothing gets accomplished. But if we keep spending the way we are and growing the federal goverment (which produces no taxable income) including when they buy up lands and call them federal lands. When our debt comes do (all the money we have been printing ) and we can not pay the interest on that this debt, or dollar ( which is weaking by the day) will be useless. Our slimy politicians and government folks will sell off the lands they have confiscated (public lands) to our debtors (China, India, etc.) and no one will have access to all theses lands. But we can all be happy we bitched, whined and moaned about keeping them federal as they sell them to forgien buyers off for keeping this generation fat happy and uncountable to future generations.

I'm not following your logic. Care to expand on the disposition plan by the federal government to our future foreign overlords?

I guess our debt is just free. We can run it up and we owe nobody.

Believe what people do, not what they say. The Trump/GOP agenda is to deplete public lands while monetizing them, meanwhile disregarding or erasing the laws in effect to preserve and protect them. The Budget increases federal debt massively, their priorities only include debt reduction as a convenient lie told to advance their other agendas. WTF are you getting your "information?"

I think most get the debt issue. Selling public land to the foreigners is the head scratcher.
who is buying our debt? A magic genie or we are just inventing it. Dirt and minerals (not created paper money) , when we can't pay the interest on the debt and the dollar (the global currency based on oil and credit) come due and we can not pay it, someboby is going to want payment (people buying our debt)

let us keep going they way we have since we have left the gold standard and relied on credit and our dollar. Everyone loves the US and will continue to prop up the dollar, so you can comfortably and go hiking and the grocercy story and make sure your grand kids future is comfortably painless. Because nobody is trying to crash the dollar (oil)

I apololgize to everyone. this is a hunting forum and I should keep my mouth shut. I should talk about hunting things. I might of had a drink to many today on the fourth. I apologize and will not respond again
