We were sitting around the fire at elk camp, when my son saw something red under my truck. Upon further investigation, he saw a small crescent wrench hanging on the emergency brake cable.

It seems I had left it still hanging on the cable after I had adjusted it 2 months ago! Evidently I pulled everything else out from under the truck and failed to take the wrench off before I put all the rest of the tools away.

How it stayed on there all that time and hundreds of miles is a mystery to me…

I lost my shooting sticks one time. A very specific one because they lock into my rifle and they don't make them anymore. This one happened to be my longer ones for shooting standing up. I looked everywhere. Hiked back to my property on all the spots I sat. Drove all the roads I use. Looked for two hears on my hunting trips.Three years go by and I need to power wash my truck after a muddy hunt. I am spraying between the cab and the bed and I notice something loose. There they were. I must have put on my tool box after hunting and drove off. They fell perfectly down flat. There must have been 20K miles put on my truck and they never fell out. It was like wining the lottery.

But this reminds me of a story when my buddy and I were hunting and guy flew past us on an ATV when were on a logging trail. He was going so fast at the corner his binos fell out. I picked them up and starting walking they way the guy went. My buddy asked" you chasing him down and giving those back" I said nope, I wanna grab the case when it flies off too.
