One of my best hunting and shooting investments has been a pair of noise-reduction earbuds with Bluetooth. At the range, I use them for both hearing protection and to play music or listen to talk radio. If you're someone who enjoys listening to music or talk radio, I've found it can actually improve your shooting skills because it reduces your anticipation of recoil and flinching. While listening to music while working out and warming up before ball sports has been around for years, I suspect it has been the noise generated by gunshots as the reason why it hasn't caught on with shooting sports. However, the technology is definitely available so that you can protect your ears while playing music, carrying on normal conversations, and even take and receive phone calls, all at the same time.
