LO Battle Ahead?

They put a lot more animals on the mountain though too, especially with the way NM has their program set up
I’d argue it doesn’t put more animals on the mountain but more money in a landowners pocket. If it did anything to be beneficial to the animals it would be the landowners doing more on the ranch to help harbor them and keep the public from being able to shoot them. All the while bitching about having them on the ranch. Look at the wagon hound ranch non stop bitching about the elk but it’s 2k to kill a cow on that ranch.

Why are you here on a forum focused on free public land and hunting but advocating for a pay per view?

Unit-wide LO tags allow you the same “free”access to public hunting land just like any other tag does.

I personally am only interested in DIY public land hunts, but many of these tags do indeed open private land to the public.

Hey man. Shark needs his tag. mtmuley

I have a question for just Wyoming residents:

If all landowner tags were fully transferable, but the acceptace of the tags (doesn't matter what the landowner chose to do with them) meant full access for the general public during all hunting seasons, would that be seen as a win? Or a loss?

Excellent post and I hope some WY residents chime in.

Gut check question to see if people are really as interested in increasing public access as they claim to be.

Unfortunately in those situations where they open up land to the public its only to be able to have a unit wide tag and the only reason that is done is because the land doesn't hold animals during hunting season. One of the reasons I am not fully on board with transferable land owner tags yet.

The other problem with them is offering transferable land owner tags will likely decrease resident opportunity in the draw which I will never be ok with just so a landowner can sell there tags isn't going to get a majority of sportsman on board

It’s pretty simple. So they don’t get to sell and distribute tags.

Why not? You’re aware they are currently receiving them and are able to transfer to family right? That bridge has already been crossed.

I’m not sure that is true. You’re aware many landowners are currently receiving transferable landowner tags (to family for no charge), right?

I’m not saying that bridge you are worried about isn’t valid, but it has already been crossed as well.

It’s goes against the entire reason this forum exists. @Big Fin is literally out in dc right now fighting for public land. The best tool a nr hunter has is between his ears sorry you haven’t figured out how to get a good tag.
First off, this platform still exists for the purpose of making money. There are a lot of employees that Big Fin supports and there are bills and expenses to be paid. I guarantee you that as a business venture, it's not in the red. Yes, I feel there is way more passion into the "why" then all the others combined including public lands and wildlife but I'm guessing that it solely doesn't object landowner tags without knowing the details.

There are a lot of scenarios that if pursued by passionate people could be absolutely extremely beneficial to wildlife and wild places. It should never be about "hunting them" and it seems to me that is where your heart lies
