Went to range for 30 rounds then taken off.

You guys are exactly right.

I may be a sucker for a deal, but the pm that I just rec'd back does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling. I was about to ask if anyone has dealt with him here, but there are no other legitimate posts leading me to believe anything good.

I'll let y'all know what happens... which will probably be nothing.

Big problem. This post was made by Trslabaugh, but this is the pm that I rec'd back from him. It's a whole different guy!

Haha yeah some times it’s to good to be true I did pm him as well last night but never heard anything back.
I asked for more pictures

I didn't send any funds, so it's not a problem. THIS!! however, may be. I sent this guy a payment and I am beginning to have buyer remorse because a couple of things are not adding up. Can anyone vouch for the guy who goes by peeshaunn?

I also messaged for this smoking deal assuming something was shady or the prospective seller may be in need of quick cash. I asked about condition and preferred method of payment and pictures. Here is the response:

The scope is in perfect condition.

I accept Zelle, Apple Pay, discreet PayPal F&F, or USPS money order.

So, I looked at his previous posts and thought I'll offer a postal money order and see how he responds. I also asked for his personal info. Here is his response:

How quickly can you ship the money order? Do you think the holidays might cause significant delays? I need the funds before New Year.

I told him the post office can meet that timeline I need his personal info, Here is his response:

Hey, I'm driving right now but I'll message you my details soon.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lets hope no misfortune came upon him because all i've got since are crickets!:)

I saw that screaming deal when it was first posted and that some of you guys got caught, I'm thinking has to be a scammer. Guess I should have said something right away.

We have had alot of this crap lately. Pretty obvious when it's a new member that padded their post count enough for the classifieds. Several long standing members here with thousands of threads have had there accounts hacked and selling stuff under their names. Be diligent no matter who is selling.

I got taken for $250 last week, and another attempt was made to scam me the same day.

Also, on another trusted website just yesterday, I sold a fellow a rifle for over $1400. He posted on my thread that he would take it and shared his number asking me to call him. I called him just a few minutes later, but he sounded confused to be hearing from me. He said that he was already in the process of sending funds for the rifle via PayPal, since he had gotten a text message from a guy pretending to be me.

You can't be too careful these days! These scumbags are everywhere.

I had pm’d him asking about it. He said his pay pal account was suspended due to 2A issues. Said I could use his wife’s but insisted on the friends and family. I told him I wasn’t sure about that. States he didn’t want his money in Pay pal jail for weeks. Also told me Pay Pal protections didn’t apply to firearm related things so it was no good.

Whether that is true or not I wasn’t going to send a friends and family transfer to someone under suspicions circumstances. He did offer to do a face time if I wanted. But later said he thought he had it sold.

I hate to suspect someone but things are too fishy. I know someone else was hacked awhile back so hard to know.

Good reminder to not post your number publicly!

Price way too low, not even a smart scammer.

It's rampant; and electronic payment is a red flag (while I did it with a long-term member here and everything was fine, it was after a lot of discussion).
