Let’s see your Big Game Shooting Stick

Best I can do.

Browning Lever Action .308 Winchester, 2-7 Leupold, this was my grandfathers rifle. It’s a fantastic big woods & timber rifle.

Winchester model 70 featherweight .270 Winchester, 3-9 Leupold. My father purchased two of these in 1980 for his boys. One in .270 and one in 7x57. I was given the .270 and my brother the 7x57. Started hunting with this rifle when I was 12 and have shot more deer with this rifle than all my others combined, it’s my favorite. 94735
Beretta Mato .280 Remington, 3-9 Leupold. This rifle shoots the best of any in my safe. It just flat shoots with about any ammo.94736

Here is my first rifle I used to kill a few critters. Model 70 pre-64 in 308. It has been in the safe more recently since I figured there more sentimental value with this rifle as it was my grandpa's.

Kimber Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor, its been only used for deer. Not sure that there's enough power to pursue elk with it but thats a conversation for another day.

Currently is my go to rifle. It is Remington 700 action with a PacNor barrel chambered in 257 Weatherby.

Plain Jane Model 70 chambered in 7mm.

This one here I may take out for one more hunt but odds are not likely. Model 70 Super Grade 30GOVT06. This one dates back to pre WW-II.

Man, that Super 70 is cool. Especially in a 30-06.

My Blaser R8 Professional Success in 30-06, straight pull action.
It's a bit on the heavy side at 11 1/2lbs as in photo.
Scope is 8x56 Schmidt and Bender

No photos to show, but mine are a Model 70 Featherweight Classic in 7mm HT that my dad bought off my uncle for me when I was 1 year old. It had a tasco silver antler 3-9x40 when I started hunting with it, but thats since changed a couple of times now that I'm learning that good glass is worth the cash. It's currently wearing a VX-3i 3.5-10x40, but that may be swapped for a smaller tube before too long. My other is a new Weatherby Vanguard S2 .257 Wby Mag that's only punched paper, but I'm already falling in love with it. It's got a Vortex dback tactical 3-9x40 I was able to get on sale, but it may get the 3.5-10 when it comes off the M70

This thread has me itchin' to add to the safe. I don't have any half a cool as most of the ones on here.

Now that we can post pics again,

9.3. I've changed scopes and refinished the stock in a reddish oil tone. But she's sub MOA at 100 & 200 yards.

1959 m70 in 375 H&H. It was part of my fathers dream to live in alaska, and in his world, it was the right gun for Moose and Bears there. He never shot a bear with it, but I know of a couple of moose that got close enough that the weaver peep sight did its work. I'm thinking I need to get serious about a Bear here in Idaho, if only to finish the job

Weatheryby vanguard in 7mm rem mag, boyds at-one stock, atlas bipod, with the third rendition of glass, a huskemaw 5-20x50. Currently shooting 160gr nosler accubonds while I dial in another load for the 168 nosler long range accubonds. Also looking at getting a lilja or jury barrel in 26-28" in a sendero contour, with everything trued and pillar/glass bedded.

How much does that set up weigh?

It's nothing special, but here's mine:

Savage Trophy Hunter in 7mm Rem Mag
Nikon 3-9 x 40 BDC scope
Brand new muzzle brake (haven't been able to shoot it yet)
Custom camo paint job (done by me)
It's killed every elk I've ever shot at (exactly one)

IMG_7355.jpg

This is my varmint rifle:
Howa Hogue rifle in .223
Nikon 3-9 x 40 scope
Don't remember the brand bidpod
Is a tack driver
Killed every coyote I've ever shot at (exactly one)

IMG_7356.jpg

Obviously, I'm not much of a hunter. I try hard, but haven't been at it very long.

Bought this rifle a year ago and was finally able to put some glass on it. had the help of my sweet little princess in "tinkering" to get it put together this weekend.
My newest addition:
Kimber Hunter SS in .308
Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14x40 CDS with 30mm tube. Big thanks to Schmalts for selling optics at great prices!
Talley Rings
Planning to send 165 grain Nosler accubonds through the barrel and hunt exclusively with this gun for the 2019 season.
