I'm lefty all the way and never shot anything but a right handed rifle.. Gotta try shot gun with shootting righthanded this spring as I got a bum left shoulder, with surgery coming in 3 weeks. Might have to just play with the birdies and not shoot any this year.....BOB!
Cut through the top knuckle of my right shoot finger and shot lefty (Model 94 Win) until I could afford to buy a bolt gun. Just could never get the hang of left eye bolt so switched. Still more comfortable shooting left eye though
I shot a righty bolt for a few years when I was first getting started. Switched a couple years ago. Plan to have this rifle for quite some time. Not many options out there, that's for sure.
I bought a Savage 223 Lefthand when I first started shooting prarriedogs and found it to be a pain to shoot as a single shot ,always reaching over the scope to load. Even though I shoot lefthanded ,I sold the lefthand 223 and bought a new right hand heavy barrel 22-250 and like it a lot better.
I just recently bought a browning a bolt in 7WSM ,it is also right hand.this will be my elk rifle this year.
This is my go to every day hunting gun. It shoots just under a MAO. Elk, deer and antelope. Does 'em all. Light weight. Custom built by David Gentry. 6.5 x .06. Right hand bolt.
Love the gun. I'm right handed, shoot exclusively left. My left eye is major dominate.
Would I prefer a left handed gun? Yes, but....................
I have both, but my go-to guns are left hand. The only reason not to shoot a left-hand bolt rifle is that the right-hand ones are easier to sell if you decide to get rid of them. They also work pretty fast when shooting from a rest.
I'm a lefty that grew up shooting right handed guns, both shotguns and rifles. I can shoot both fine but prefer a lefty bolt gun now. My two main bolt rifles are lefty Tikka T3 Lites. My slug gun is right handed bolt Savage 220f.
Im a lefty shooting right handed bolts. I tried a left handed bolt once and the right handed bolt felt more natural. Same reason I golf right handed. Like someone else said earlier, if you decide to get rid of it, its easier to sell a right handed.
My dad shot mostly right handed guns left handed. Now he finally has a left handed rifle and I see my right handed brother shooting it more than him. I guess we're all jacked up
I shoot rifle/shotgun crossbow left eyed best. I shoot pistol right handed and right eyed best. Have did this for over 45 years. I had a left handed 7mm I bought used and sold it after the summer before the hunting season started. I couldn't get used to it and train myself not to look at the side of the gun for the bolt when I couldn't find it..
I used to shoot my recurve/compound bows right eyed but with botched surgery I can't pull back and hold it now. And fighting workmans comp and lying Doctor is out of the question. So I adjusted, ha ha.
I'm a righty but way left eye dominant and had to shotgun doves one year left-handed because of rotator cuff surgery. Best year of shooting I can remember - lots of helpful suggestions from my hunting partners at that point.
