Are than any states bordering Colorado that have leftover or OTC deer or elk tags that would be good over thanksgiving holiday?

Ever think about a late season cow elk hunt over christmas or new years? You can probably tie a couple vacation days there.

Many units are open to January 31st.

Montana and Idaho both have deer tags still for that week...

Not bordering but still within a day's drive, and they're good tags.

Mudranger - Sounds like you have the same job as me, only off over Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you can get on some private land Oklahoma has some excellent deer hunting, but a lot is leased. It has limited public land, but also holds some good deer. December cows tags may be option next year or this year, I haven't checked the leftover list. I'm hunting In Dec on a 2nd choice cow tag in unit 54, and so far it can be drawn every year as a 2nd choice.

I'm sure you could still pickup a landowner tag in New Mexico. Might be asking more than you are willing to pay though.
