THE LAW IS THE LAW

So if the US government determines that it is against the law for the
words "under God" to be on our money, then, so be it.

And if that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not
to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it.

And since they already have prohibited any prayer in the schools, on
which they deem their authority, then so be it.

I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen.

I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that smarter people
than I are in positions to make good decisions.

I would like to think that those people have the American Publics' best
interests at heart.

BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE?

Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot Post His
Commandments in Government buildings,

I don't believe the Government and it's employees should participate in
the Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our
government is eliminating from many facets of American life.

I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving &
Easter.
After all, it's just another day.

I'd like the US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good
Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter as well as Sundays. After all, it's just
another day.

I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to
worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." After all it's just
another day.

I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all
government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday &
Easter.

It shouldn't cost any overtime since those would be just like any other
day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically
correct."

In fact....

I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside
for worshipping God...) because, after all, our government says that it
should be just another day....

What do you all think????

If this idea ! gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will
stop giving in to the minority opinions and begin, once again, to
represent the 'majority' of ALL of the American people.

SO BE IT...........

Please Dear Lord, Give us the help needed to keep you in our country!

'Amen' and 'Amen'

These are definitely things I never thought about but from now on, I
will be sure to questions those, in government, who support these
changes.

At the top, it says "I hope this makes its way around the USA several
times over!!!!!" hump

So very true. Government officials have definitely co-opted Christmas and Easter for their own agenda. Of course in the history of Christianity that has never happened before. Yuletide anyone. ;)

I personally think the religious zealots should shut their mouths and pray at home. Keep your propaganda to yourself as well...if I want religion I'll read the bible, the koran, etc. and make up my own mind. I dont need some nutcase telling me what I should or shouldnt believe.

The only people with "ruffled" feathers over whether or not "under god" is on money, on court house walls, etc. are the people that believe everyone has to think the way they do and believe in the same god they do.

Novel idea: Everyone believe what they want and quit trying to tell everyone else what to believe...hows that? Quit forcing religion on people, theres a reason for things like seperation of church of state and freedom of religion.

The best bumper sticker I've seen in quite a while pretty well sums this thread up: "Dont pray in my schools and I wont think in your church"...

I can't stand watching a football (or baseball, or basketball game) and when they interview the star of the game, he spends the whole time thanking his Lord, his Saviour, Jesus Christ. And how the Lord worked through him to show God's work to millions of others by allowing him to catch a football.

God has his priorities wrong with all the problems in the world if he his paying any attention to football games....

With all the religious zealot hypocrits in the world, maybe god has just given up and has decided to watch sports.

Well, they say everyone has to beleive in something. I beleive you can belevie whatever you want. But your thoughts or beleifs should not impact the rest of the population. If you beleive in a higher power (which I do) taxpayer dollars should not go to put the ten commandments on the court house door. Politicians shouldn't use religion to set the laws of the land. I understand that religon is a very passionate subject with a lot of people, but let GOD decide whats right, wrong, or what he doesn't have an opinion about, and let him decide the punishments for violating some of his rules, on the violators homecoming. NOT CONGRESS!
By the way, I work for the State, and I have to work every holiday that doesn't fall on my scheduled days off,( I get paid double time,) on Christmas, Easter, and Sundays I am working. Since I work on Sundays driving a bus in the inner city, I see how hypocritical alot of people are. I get them going to and coming from Church, then I get them going to the casinos, bars, and strip clubs in the afternoon. In the morning they are praising god, later in the day they are Mother F'ng everything and everybody. I think church is a social club to a lot of people (I am not a church goer), and the only reason they go is to show off their new clothes, and hats.
Maybe this should be under Sportsmans Issues...LOL

You dorks are missing the satire. Why would you want to change things that we have been doing in this country since it was founded like putting the word "God" on our money just to satisfy a literal handful of malcontents who are so ego driven that they think the entire world revolves around them? I don't give a shit what is displayed or printed as I have the ability to ignore things that I disagree with. Funny that a bunch of taxpayer sucks are all for spending more money on crap. What a shock.

ringer,

Were you drinking this morning?

I'm certainly no religious fanatic. Don't even go to church all that often.
However ..... I wish some of our wimpy leaders would grow a set, stick their necks out and say "By God we'll say the pledge of allegiance in this school if we want, we'll post the ten commandments in this courthouse if we want, and we'll print in God we trust on our money if we want".
A little more attention to God and patriotism wouldn't hurt any of us. Especially our kids in school. I think you'll find the majority supports this stuff.

I agree that this is pretty basic, fundamental stuff which our country was founded on.
Otherwise, got2hunt's ideas are right on. Let's go to work on Sundays, Christmas, Easter, etc. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Steiny,

Whats wrong with people keeping their religious beliefs to themselves and in their own homes/churches?

Kids go to school for an education...not to become brain-washed by some religious freaks. If religion is so important to you and your kids...fine, take YOUR kids to church. Let everyone else decide whats best for THEIR kids.

I'm fed up with the U.S. Government and the religious right thinking we all need some savin', preachin', god on our money, and all that crap. Religion is not mandatory, its voluntary and shouldnt be forced on people.

Just because some a-hole goes to church every sunday doesnt change the fact that they're ultimately still just an a-hole.

Hypocrits...

You know I respect all of you as fellow hunters and outdoorsmen, but this topic fits in with so many like it......Church and State, Gay Marriage, Brady Bill, Smoking Ban...etc........Since when does the minority rule.....last I heard was around 80% of the population was Christian.....

You non-believers can do what ever you want, but why should we change due to your offended nature..........with all that is going on in the world, you would think people would be a little more concerned about other things, other than saying God bless America.........I bet you all said the pledge of Allegiance as a kid and never gave a second thought other than being proud to say it every morning........nobody is forcing school prayer on anyone, but should be available to those that would like to.......

This country was founded by God fearing people, who are probably rolling overin their graves at what is going on today...........

It's funny, but the company I work for is a perfect example......nearly 1,000 employees, and due to there being only 2 who are Atheists, we can't have a Christmas or an Easter.....they are a Winter and Spring Holidays......that's corporate America for you.........

Want to know what is wrong with America today.....nobody's got a backbone anymore......the offended minority get their day in court, because someone else is benifitting from it.......Gay marriage...Smoking bans..the dumb lady that spilled McDonalds Coffee on her leg.......any dumb arse person that thinks they deserve a multi million dollar lawsuit because a gun shot their kid or parent..cousin...dog.......or there was a fly in their soup........

You don't want to pray...fine........you don't want to beleive in God....fine..........but don't foce it down my throat either..................remember the door is now swinging both ways........won't be long and you most likely will be faced with losing something you believe in.....like the right to bear arms......bet we'd hear you all sing then.......but guess what, their is a minority winning that battle also.........

It's all easy to jump on a bandwagon when it serves you.......but sit on the other side of the fence, and see how it feels ?!?!? My guess is it won't be long, and we'll all know that feeling on one platform or another............all freedoms will be lost........it already is happening........it's just a matter of time.........unless the known majorities actually let their voice be heard......

That is pretty sad that you make that little sense when sober....

I think it makes perfect sense........thing have been this way for how long ?? Hmmmmm longer than I've been alive.....but Oh NO......now in a short time a few people seem to think we have a problem.......got some offended people that want to make the world perfect...... .we keep solving all of these "problems" we'll have a down right utopia around here.........I bet the terrorists of the world will leave us alone then.......we'll be perfect......

It's Choices.......really simple......you don't like it, you don't partake.......

Is freedom of speech really freedom, when those offended by it try to regulate those things which they're offended by ?? Especially when they are the minority voice........
