Landlocked State Trust Lands

Going from below 20k nr tags to 70k nr tags (while r is relatively flat) is a problem that you and every other legislator can solve.

This presents a significant financial challenge- nonresident hunters are essential for funding.

They contribute 76% of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks' license-generated revenue. This funding supports Montana's Block Management (which is already on a downward trajectory) and Habitat Montana programs, plus local game wardens.

It's also a false number that is used to incite anger against nonresident hunters.

Dont care.

Those same people have ruined montanas bma program.

Or its an established cap.

Maybe montana outfitter soceity wont like it.

But as oft fond of corrupt lobbyists and legislators to forget - the game in this state belongs to its residents.

Lotta big feelings today buddy. Need a hug?

The only additions under the cap have been through the free & reduced licenses. The 70K number is based off base license purchases, not actual license sales. Everyone who puts in for a license has to purchase the base license.

But it's cool to see you say you don't care about losing 6 million acres of access for all hunters so you can get a pound of flesh against people you don't like.

Manipulating what i say to suit your argument.

Whats your profession again?

Whats sad and requiring of a hug - you used treeshark to support your agrument. 🤣

I understand that, but the state legislature probably does. You’re asking them to vote against the best interest of roughly 80% of their own constituents to make your hunting better.

Well bad news. Looks like some people who actually care about the people who live here are pushing just that.

Gonna be a fun legislative session.

Okay. Batmans a numbers, no bullshit kinda guy.

If im full of shit on 70k - what is it? Its not enough to just deflect and say the number isnt true. We arent sitting in helena 🤣

For the 900th $*)Q!#@$ time: https://fwp.mt.gov/binaries/content/assets/fwp/buyandapply/license-reports/2024-hb-593-report.pdf

Rep Marler passed this bill in 2023 that calls on FWP to list all of the NR licenses sold, it is a valuable piece of information.

It's up to you to educate yourself on how licensing works in MT if you want to voice an opinion that's not just numbers thrown at a wall.

Dont care.

Those same people have ruined montanas bma program.
Then ask Montana Residents to fully fund the BMA program. NR's fund the lions share.

I hear the same nonsense in Wyoming about our accessyes program. I can shut down arguments like yours pretty fast when I point out what a bunch of cheapskates the Resident hunters are in regard to funding accessyes.

I have no issue with NR's using these programs, they pay for it, they should get to use them.

If you want exclusive use, get out your checkbook and lease your own place.

I know.

I just wanted treeshark to see - not every legislator is a tool for the outfitting industry in helena.

Well bad news. Looks like some people who actually care about the people who live here are pushing just that.

I don’t think it’s bad news to conduct a study to seek better data.

When the study concludes, do you predict any of what I wrote will be proven incorrect?

I have a funny prediction what one of the long-term results of it will be. Can you guess what it is?🙂

Lol ive riled up the nr raghorn slayer, the pretend good guy lobbyist, and the chief cheerleader of transferable LO tags.

Day complete.

P.s.

"60,978 deer and elk licenses were issued to nonresidents in 2023"

If you compare what Marty & Co are saying in this oped to the actual numbers posted, your bullshit peaks through again.

Those are the base licenses sold.

On the sauce this early on a Sunday morning? Or still drinking from last night?

Care to walk us through the funding your $20 elk tag and $16 deer tag provides to the Block Management Program?

Or was that all used up via a 1/4 tank of fuel for an FPW truck?

@Forkyfinder- I quickly reviewed the data in your link. From 2020-2024, it appears that NR deer and elk licenses were fairly flat.

Did I miss something in there that shows a dramatic increase recently?

He's still stuck thinking that the law that says FWP has to manage for citizens of state means only resident hunters, because he doesn't think landowners or outfitters are citizens either.
