Landlocked State Trust Lands

More gut piles = less quality
Only guys that get paid or pay for quality worry enough that they’d give it up entirely for better “quality”.

If i doubled my gut piles every year on public without having to pay a guide or outfitter, I’d say the quality has INCREASED.

I know many of you old farts that aren’t outfitters will disagree because you want your BIGGGGG MULE deer back, but I’ll really have a hard time believing you don’t pay for your access or your big bucks. A public land hunter would see more gut piles- more accessible lands, AS AN INCREASE in quality

For a lot of us success is defined by taking a mature animal.

If accessible lands held quantity and quality we’d not have an issue.

I don’t know how we close Pandora’s box

I have nothing against long range shooting….at steel targets.

However I can’t legislate ethics or morals.
You can legislate tag quantities, season structures, and NR tags.

We’re I king, mule deer would be a separate license, NR put on regional cap, drastically reduced. Season would end Nov 5.

Until I’m anointed I have to tolerate what we have to deal with.
Good thing about this forum, it’s taught me a lot about suffering other people’s uneducated opinions, about myself and industry.

Well Eric,

Recent survey (thanks to the montana hunters first act) should give you plenty of data to be "king" and head to helena next session and get something done.

Going from below 20k nr tags to 70k nr tags (while r is relatively flat) is a problem that you and every other legislator can solve. Im certain you'll have plenty of residents who say they are tired of the state being over ran with people who dont live here. My personal opinion - itd do way more than changing season dates.

If youre worried about gut piles - id start there - considering most NR DIY guys arent willing to leave empty handed.
