Policeman pulls over his own stolen car

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- A South Carolina police officer pulled over a stolen car yesterday -- his own.
Ethan Bernardi was off duty when he spotted his stolen Volkswagen Jetta. He whipped his cruiser around and pulled the car over. Then he called other deputies, who arrested three suspects.
The North Charleston police chief says that's an advantage to having off-duty officers drive patrol cars -- they can still respond to crimes when needed.
Bernardi's car was stolen from his home. The driver and two passengers have been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.
