Kayak Fishing

Wife and I picked up a couple kayaks last week and have been exploring east TN. Caught my first catfish ever in the kayak yesterday. Good bit of fun and I'm looking forward to doing more of it.

I love my kayak it's opened up so much fishing for me without the hassle and maintenance of a boat. A few tips I wish I had known when I started. First if you have a place to store them inside it'll help the life drastically. If not inside at least get a tarp covering them or somewhere out of direct sunlight. Next a nice back and butt pad are a good investment I believe mine is a WooWave. Before that I used a treestand pad. Last I would recommend some form of anchoring system like a trolly or anchor wizard. It makes fishing so much nicer when you can get into position and make more then a couple cast with out having to whip the paddle out and reposition.



Becareful it can be a bit of a rabbit hole not counting the kids I own 3 now.
