Once again I passed on some decent bucks and ended up taking this last day buck. One of these years I hope to get a monster. For now, I'll settle for some great venison.

The drought has really taken it's toll out there. Deer numbers were down and pheasants were scarce. That and the weather was the warmest I've ever seen it. 74 degrees on Dec. 1st. Makes for tough deer hunting.

Well done sir. Photo seems to be taken not at dawn or dusk. Did you find him bedded or catch him moving?

Congrats!

It was 71 in eastern CO where I was trying to fill my tag. Deer were very scarce, but I think that had more to do with pheasant hunters because I muzzy hunted in Oct and the deer were everyhere

Thanks guys.

Kansasdad, we had seen some deer go into some river bottoms earlier. We knew from previous years when pushed, they funnel up right past the plum thicket in the background. So that's where I set up and my buddies pushed the bottom and the deer came right by like clockwork. Shot him at 10:30.

That is a cool looking buck! I will probably never kill a giant, because every time one like that walks by I can't not pull the trigger. haha congrats!
