Yes, these are salmon (Kokanee - which are basically land-locked sockeye). There are nine or ten reservoirs in Utah which hold spawning populations of Kokanee. While the journey to their spawning grounds pales in comparison to the arduous travels of other salmon, it’s amazing to see these gorgeous red fish in the streams.
