At a quick glance I'd say carp.

That back bottom fin looks too long to be a walleye.

The rest of it looks like a walleye though.

Looks like a sucker to me. Probably largescale sucker up there if I had to guess.
You can see the way the scales start to get smaller as you go towards the head, which a lot of sucker species do (carp scales don't do this)

Ha...im guessing in the scale of things then your family migrated here rather late.
Carp were imported to the States as a food source when game became scarce on the Eastern seaboard.

I actually have eaten a few. I find filleting them the biggest problem not the taste.

They can be decent if taken from cold water. Scored and deep fried in cornmeal.
