One of our NE region sportsmen’s roundtable delegates has asked me to post an announcement for this meeting on this website.

This delegate is forming a sportsmen’s working group to move the public access expansion concept forward and further define it.

The first meeting is scheduled for Jan 31st in the Hunter Ed building located at Colorado Parks & Wildlife Headquarters, 6060 Broadway, Denver, CO with a 6:30pm start time.

In the first meeting, a review of the current state of Colorado’s public access will be conducted, ideas for expansion on public and private ground will be mulled along with the pros and cons of financial options to fund expansion. It is also desired to conduct a short survey about two topics – 1. How large the species scope of access expansion should be, and 2. How should any access expansion be funded. There should be ample time for open discussion and exchange of ideas.

Review of the bi-annual report from Montana’s block management program and info on Wyoming’s Access Yes program is suggested to help guide the discussion based on two of the top access programs in the western US (See below links).

A contact email address for the facilitator is provided below if you'd like further information; even if you can't make the meeting, please still reach out as you'll still be able to provide your thoughts/ideas via an electronic version of the survey.
