Influencers Ruining Stuff

While we are on the topic of HQ podcast guests, this one is really funny. At least if you're in my shoes as regular fodder for HQ, and a favorite target for the guest they had on a podcast episode.

I got sent a link of the podcast by someone who knew that the guest has a lot to say about me, Hunt Talk, and our other platforms. That person has been tossed from Hunt Talk and I think from most of the other hunting forums.

Below is an excerpt from a 2024 email that was a financial offer sent to those of us with media platforms in the outdoor space. It came from the company founded by the HQ podcast guest in the episode I was sent a link to. In that episode, the HQ host and guest gave the impression that they felt this kind of marketing in the hunting space, leveraging digital media platforms, seemed to be the root of much of the evil they see in hunting.

The email from the company founded and operated by the HQ podcast guest was offering sales commissions to digital hunting media platforms. Yup, up to a 40% commission for any customer sent to the business and who signed up as a subscriber to their fitness program and lower commissions for merch and other items. Suffice to say, I ignored that one, as with all of the others I get.

I did save a copy, as I found it rather funny that HQ had a podcast guest from this company and the thread of the conversation, at least the parts I listened to, were very critical of exactly what this company was doing with this email I received.

Some of the HQ podcast guests in clips of episodes that get sent to me, make me laugh. This is some funny chit. I had forgot about this one until the Mercado post had come up earlier today. Now, it seems worth tossing out there for a few good laughs.

Though I've clipped the company letterhead the email came on, it'll be pretty easy for some to put together who this Jackson Wyoming fitness company is, who the founder is, and how he and HQ seem to have a lot of synergies.

That HQ podcast with David Mercado podcast was a wild ride. Hopefully he's learned his lesson about stretching the truth, sheesh, or just lying in general. For reference, below is the link to the article about the BS bear attack story.
