How to say you shot a toad without saying, "Hey, y'all look at this toad I shot."

Make no mistake. I'd shoot that buck and tag with whatever I had in my hands for .224 to .375.

Only cartridge I've ever used that has dropped EVERY single deer in its tracks. Why does it do it? I have no damn clue, but it does it, and the others I've used simply don't.

I used 270,308 but I prefer a 243 now.

Anything that shoots flat with a 130gr bullet or heavier is going to put you in territory that is hard to beat. It can be done lobbing bullets in slow and it can be done with lighter bullets, but flat makes it easier and bigger bullets are never a bad thing.

A .30cal 190 leaving at 2975fps sure does a number on them. That said, I can’t say that a 6.5mm 140 leaving at 3050fps hasn’t done equally well.
