That’s all that my 6 year old son could say after he caught this guy. I had to help him get it in the boat, obviously.

I said, “you oughta sleep well tonight.”

He said, “yeah, and I’ll be smiling the whole time.”

No tape measure or scale on the boat, so no way to measure him. Whaddaya think he weighed? My boat is a 16x48 Jon boat, and The Dude weighs 50lb. The fish seemed heavier/bigger than him… but I could be wrong

Blue cat on a jug, thats what I'm talking about! Great picture, looking forward to these moments with my son.

And I'd guess the fish is probably 35-40 lbs based on similar ones I've caught.

Thank you all. We love the outdoors, and I try to raise my kids to enjoy the natural opportunities around us. I wasn’t raised a river rat, but I’ve grown into one since I’ve had kids.

I’m sure that it was 40-50lb. It’s been a while since I’ve carried scales on the boat since my old ones got ruined, but I’ve caught a few in this size range that fell in that weight category. The TN River is about 60’ deep directly adjacent to where we caught this, and the fish can get really big in there. A 100lb cat was caught downriver not too terribly long ago.
