I want to be a suppresor owner, where to start

Put ear plugs or ear muffs on and shoot, watch game drop with 1 shot....end of story!

If you have kids that like to shoot....buy a muzzle break that will actually result in less kick. Obviously have your kids wear ear protection.

Suppressors are a fad!!!

Who really cares about noise when shooting with earplugs/muffs. A muzzle break will actually make a recoil difference.

Recoil differences will make it possible for kids to use larger calibers for big game. Most suppressors do almost nothing for recoil while all muzzle breaks cut recoil 30 to 50%.

Have you ever shot with a suppressor? I have muzzle breaks and suppressors. I will always choose the can when possible.

10/10 my wife, kids, myself, competitive shooter friends, and new shooter friends are more accurate and enjoy the process much more with a can.

You do you though!

Brakes are more effective at reducing recoil but to say suppressors don’t is just not true. Suppressors also greatly reduce muzzle blast and the accompanying pressure wave whereas brakes magnify them. IMO greatly reducing the muzzle blast helps people shoot better even if there is slightly more recoil.

Get a laser printer and make your own.

Man Makes Silencer with 3D Printer | RECOIL
Yes, 3D printed suppressors (silencers) are legal to make and own in the U.S., but they are strictly regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA), requiring ATF approval, a $200 tax stamp, and registration, just like traditionally made suppressors. The key is that you must follow all federal NFA laws (like filing a Form 1 to manufacture) and state laws, which can be more restrictive, and use appropriate durable materials (like metal alloys) for safe, functional devices.

1) Suppressors have been around for 100 years and are only not ubiquitous in the US hunting community because of the NFA. The rest of the hunting world uses them and has for years. Definitely not a fad.

2) some of us hunt in areas where things happen quickly at close ranges. We rely on our ears as much (or more than) our eyes and often dont get a chance to put hearing protection in before being in the field of view of an animal.

3) I'd really like to know your experience with suppressors because its fundamentally untrue that they dont reduce recoil. I genuinely wonder if you've even shot with a suppressor to make that kind of statement.

4) kids, especially when they first start shooting, are often just as sensitive to the report of a rifle as they are the recoil. In that instance a muzzle brake can make things worse, especially if you're shooting under a shelter like most ranges have.

Even all muffed up, brakes are obnoxious.

I went through Silencer Central, they handled everything on the spot, including a free trust. I bought a Banish 30 and a Banish 22 at the same time. I wish I had done it years ago, back in my ignorant youth. My primary criteria were light weight and user serviceable. The Banish cans are 100% Titanium and user serviceable. I have been really impressed with both of these suppressors and would buy the same ones again. Another bonus with SC was that my cans were mailed directly to me.

currently waiting on mine. It shipped USPS. Came with in a mile of my house to an FFL. Then shipped to UPS 10 miles away. UPS delivery missed me 2 days so far. Now on day 3 with more of the same nonsense from UPS. I already talked to Silencer Central. If it gets returned to them it will be shipped to my work place. UPS be like: Tomorrow Thursday between 10am and 2pm. Then at 1pm it switches to by 9pm. So I waited as long as I could and went to work. That evening I got the sorry we missed you email. With we will be at your house between 2pm-6pm tomorrow (Friday) . Perfect. I will come home from work early and be there by 1:30pm. So I go to work and they come at 10:30am. Sorry we missed you email. We will be at your house tomorrow between 2pm and 6pm (Saturday) So I parked myself at home at 1pm since my wife couldn't be around. At 5pm I got an email that said it will be delivered Monday. 2pm-6pm. So I set my day up to be home between 1:30pm and 6pm today. This morning it was changed to anytime today by 9pm. LOL.

Typical USPS nonsense, we keep paying more money for the worst service provider in America.

USPS delivered to the FFL, it's UPS that's giving him the run around. Granted, with USPS you wouldn't even have a delivery window, but it's hard to argue the delivery window is doing much good in his case.

Sorry, I miss read it. I wonder why the FFL didn’t send it USPS, mine both came to my mailbox.
