As I tell my D-loyalists, "I agree with all the facts pointed out as to the completely unpresidential character of the POTUS. I mean this respectfully- this point above is exactly why I feel so strongly that wildlife and the land on which it lives cannot and should not be separated conceptually. I get and understand the legalistic argument, but one relies so much upon the other that it is impossible to uncouple.

As far as the subject of the article, I feel bad for him- but I’d have felt a lot worse ten years ago. After getting “wildlife is state-owned” rammed down our throats so often lately, it sure seems like a short-sighted battle cry when issues like this are being discussed.

The hardest thing in the world for anyone to do is admit they are wrong. Humans are wired this way; our egos are our greatest weakness. And with a completely fractured media, "alternative facts," and blind tribalism being the new norm, getting anyone to open up and admit the choice they made might not have been the best is nothing short of a miracle.

Terry is a great man, I know him well. He cares deeply about our home state and puts his money and his time where his mouth is, and he could not care less about someone's national political affiliation. If you care about protecting our public lands and way of life, he's with you. This article highlights that integrity.

My own hope is that people stop shaming those that are starting to see the light. But that goes back to putting egos aside and having empathy... which let's be real: in this economy??
