I was a little concerned for the welfare of wildlife in your area before I opened the thread...

My wife and I are paying our mortgage off at a rate that we'll own our house in 12 years instead of 27. That's always my priority. But because we're ahead I still like to live every once in a while. If you're doing well financially splash it on yourself. If you're cutting it fine pay off the debt.

Thousand bucks?

Buy something impulsive as all hell!
Maybe a chit- ton of pez... and one pez dispenser with a mini replica of an authentic Warren head dress.

Then reality hits and my wife pulled my reins and the bit... bit.

Invest in skills that others are willing to pay you to use. Spending $1000 now that will allow you to make even $1000 a year more will be a huge ROI. Lots of ways to hustle up money with some new skills. Heck, learn to tie balloon animals if want to see kids smile. Learn to take leather from deceased boots/shoes and make key fobs for their relatives. Studies show that until you make about $120,000 a year that earning another $1000 will make you happier.

Aggressively pay off debt that is not making you money. If you borrow to buy an appreciating asset such as a home or rental or farm then that could pencil out to be a wise move depending on price of the asset, loan rate and your ability to make monthly payments. Debt on assets that lose value such as cars, clothes, hunting gear, etc. is insane. I do enjoy a travel adventure but only financed one and that was the honeymoon which was stupid yet worked out okay as am at 32 years of ROI on that relationship.

Invest in your retirement every year are working. 5% of salary should be the minimum and build up the % until are maxed out at the annual limit.

I can't say money is happiness though I recall the year my earnings eclipsed what I needed for happiness, I recall the day I paid the last penny owed on our real estate and I recall the month when realized I could retire and not take a cut in lifestyle. Very powerful moments in my life. Likely these are not even in my Top 10 Proudest Moments since most of those involve family but were powerful moments and I sleep like a baby now other than for health issues.

There you go. Financial roadmap of life. You have to figure out the non-financial part on your own.

Have you priced those out lately? 1k isn't going to get you very far. You'd have to settle for entry level, kinda like the Vortex of female companionship minus the warranty.
A, "contractual" warranty he'll receive... Contracting this and that from the Express Lube.

Since I'm north of 60 and the ole Bow is getting tough, I'd say buy a six pack and think about the rifle or paying down debt and see who wins.

Learn to count cards and turn your 1k into 5k before getting kicked out of local casinos. Then come back and ask again.
