Any of you who have entered into a prenuptual agreement or know a bit about them, how long does it take to have one drafted? Is it something that can be done in an afternoon (with a lawyer, of course)?

What type of documents does one need to provide to an attorney to have one done?

This is for, uh...a "friend" :D Actually it's not me since I've been married for nearly 3 years now (even happily a majority of the time!) and neither I nor my wife had much more than a shasta pop to our name when we got hitched.

You just write down, we agree that she keeps her shasta pop she had before we got married, I keep mine, we split the new ones we get since we got married, then sign it and date it. That would be a good start.

Of course I'm not a lawyer and that's not legal advice and you would be better off going to get a lawyer and paying them a few thousand before you do this. They might charge more, to make sure everything is covered, I don't know. Good luck sueing them if they screw up though. Just look up the law yourself, law libraries even have the forms and sample wording.
