How long to draft prenup?

Any of you who have entered into a prenuptual agreement or know a bit about them, how long does it take to have one drafted? Is it something that can be done in an afternoon (with a lawyer, of course)?

What type of documents does one need to provide to an attorney to have one done?

This is for, uh...a "friend" Actually it's not me since I've been married for nearly 3 years now (even happily a majority of the time!) and neither I nor my wife had much more than a shasta pop to our name when we got hitched.

You just write down, we agree that she keeps her shasta pop she had before we got married, I keep mine, we split the new ones we get since we got married, then sign it and date it. That would be a good start.

Of course I'm not a lawyer and that's not legal advice and you would be better off going to get a lawyer and paying them a few thousand before you do this. They might charge more, to make sure everything is covered, I don't know. Good luck sueing them if they screw up though. Just look up the law yourself, law libraries even have the forms and sample wording.
