Did you hear that one of the greatest football players of all time died. Yes Cookie Gilchrist the greatest fullback in the game is gone. Brown may have been a better runner but when it comes to all around players Cookie was the greatest. Off the field he led a rebellion and boycott of the AFL All Star Game because black players were segregated into colored only hotels in New Orleans. Cookie could run catch block and even punt. He didn't need a hole to run through he made one. Against San Diego he ran through a defensive lineman knocking him out cold. On his way back to the huddle he turned to the Chargers and said " Which of you SOBs is next."
